1. Who we are
Veksle is operated from Latvia, in the European Union. Contact: info@veksle.com. The operator's legal name and registered address are published in the Privacy Policy, section "Who is responsible". "We", "us" and "Veksle" in these terms mean that operator.
2. What Veksle does
Veksle takes one Navisworks file (.nwd or .nwc) that you upload, converts it to an IFC4 file on our server, shows a 3D preview in your browser and lets you download the IFC. It can also open an IFC file you upload and show it in the same viewer. If you sign in, you can keep converted or uploaded models in an account and share a model with other people through a link.
The service is free of charge at the time of writing. If a paid tier is introduced, its price and scope will be stated before you are asked to pay anything.
3. Using the service
You may use Veksle for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. You must not:
- upload a file you do not have the right to process this way (for example a model whose owner has not allowed it to leave your organisation);
- upload malware or files crafted to damage, probe or overload the service;
- circumvent the size, rate or queue limits, or run automated bulk uploads without agreeing it with us first (write to us: large batches are usually fine when planned);
- try to reach other people's files, accounts or data;
- resell the service or present it as your own.
We may block addresses or accounts that break these rules, and may refuse any upload for technical reasons.
4. Your files and your rights
Everything you upload stays yours. We claim no ownership of your models, the IFC files we produce from them, or anything in them. You give us only the permission needed to do what you asked: receive the file, convert it, show it to you, store it in your account if you keep it, and serve it to people you share it with. We do not use your files to train any model or software, and nobody looks at them except to fix a failed conversion as described in section 5.
If you believe a model shared through Veksle infringes your rights, write to info@veksle.com with the link and the grounds; we will take it down while we look into it.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for what you share. A share link works for anyone who signs in with it; keep it to the people you mean to reach, and use STOP SHARING on the model's card when you no longer want it open.
5. How long we keep files
- Converted without an account: the uploaded file and the IFC are deleted from our server 30 minutes after the conversion, or sooner when you leave.
- Kept in an account: the files stay, encrypted with a key of your own, until you delete the model or the account. There is no automatic expiry. Each account has 2 GB of space.
- Uploads that fail to convert: we may keep the uploaded file to find out why it failed and fix the converter. Such files are used for that purpose only, are not published, and are deleted once the cause is understood. If you would rather we delete a failed upload at once, tell us at info@veksle.com with the file name and the time of the attempt.
Details on what data is recorded and for how long are in the Privacy Policy.
6. Accounts
An account is identified by an email address and opened by entering a code we send to it. There is no password. Keep your mailbox secure: whoever can read it can sign in as you. A sign-in lasts 30 days on one browser unless you sign out. There is nothing to cancel: you can stop using the service at any moment, and you can delete the account at any time from the account page; this destroys the key to your stored files and the files with it.
7. Accuracy of conversions
The converter refuses rather than guesses. When a model, or part of one, cannot be converted faithfully, the tool tells you so instead of producing a misleading IFC. Even so, an IFC produced by any converter is a translation: check it in the software you need it for before relying on it for design, construction, quantity or safety decisions. We make no promise that a given model will convert, or that a converted model is complete or correct for your purpose.
8. Availability
Veksle runs on a single server with a queue. It may be busy, slow, under maintenance or unavailable, and we may change or discontinue parts of it. We will give reasonable notice before withdrawing the ability to download models kept in accounts.
9. Liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data that you did not keep a copy of, or any damage arising from a conversion result or from the unavailability of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence. If you use Veksle as a consumer in the European Union, the rights the law gives you for digital services, including the conformity rights under Directive (EU) 2019/770 as implemented in your country, apply and are not limited by these terms.
10. Intellectual property and trademarks
The Veksle software, site, design and texts belong to us. The format of the files you upload is read by software we wrote independently for the purpose of interoperability. Autodesk, Navisworks and Revit are trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. and are used here only to describe the files the tool reads; Veksle is not affiliated with or endorsed by Autodesk. IFC is an open standard of buildingSMART International.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are announced on the site. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Latvia and the applicable law of the European Union. Disputes go to the courts of Latvia, except that consumers in the EU may also use the courts of their own country. We would much rather hear from you first: info@veksle.com.
